Outer glass tube
This glass has a lower permeability for hydrogen and helium as compared to the generally used borosilicate glasses. This special glass ensures the integrity of the vacuum for 20 years and longer.
The low-iron, highly transparent glass can transmit the solar spectrum from Infra-Red through UVB (280nm). The glass has an anti-reflective coating that increases the solar-energy absorption up to an average of 96%, preventing weathering and further stabilizes the glass by closing micro cracks.
Hail Resistance
The special glass properties and thickness make the NARVA Vacuum Tubes highly resistant to hail. Tests for hail resistance (in compliance with draft standard pr EN 12975-2:200%) were conducted using a 150g steel ball dropped vertically onto a suspended glass tube 10 times. All samples withstood a drop from 40cm; 75% of the samples withstood a 60cm drop. Breakage occurred at a drop of 90cm.
Vacuum Technology
NARVA`s decades of experience in vacuum sealed glass-metal-connections guarantees a long lasting quality.
A getter holds the vacuum steady for the life of the tube.
Glass-metal connection
NARVA has developed an innovative, patented glass-metal connection. The absorber-pipe penetrates a strong yet pliable special alloy cover which is permanently fused onto the glass tube.
This special metal cover with the unique accordion-like folds resists wind damage because the construction of the cap absorbs the wind force, transferring it to the absorber pipe and away from the glass tube, all-the-while maintaining the permanent glass-metal connection.
Additionally, the metal cover has very low heat conductivity. This minimizes heat loss.
Absorber
NARVA Vacuum Tubes use state-of-the-art titaniumoxinitrid-based absorber materials to coat the copper fin.
Arcitectial integration
NARVA Vacuum Tubes have excellent application characteristics. They are available in three different standard length allowing design flexibility, as well as custom lengths (minimum order required for custom lengths). These tubes can be used creatively in the construction of facades, pergolas and balconies.
